Not what we expected
I had bought 2 VIP meet and greet tickets for this concert for my 17 year old Daughter for Christmas. When I tell you ABoogie is the ONLY music artist that I have heard EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR AT LEAST THE LAST 4 YEARS but it could be closer to 5 (I stopped counting at this point it feels like he lives with us!) When she got a car for her 16th birthday the first song played in it was nothing other than expected… an ABoogie song on blast as loud as the speakers allowed! She has searched for a nearby concert to where we live for years but most concerts have been 21 and up or time and location wasn’t in our favor. Finally this tour came along and there were a few locations that we could make, she asked every day if we could buy tickets, any tickets she didn’t care she would sit on the roof as long as she could go! I didn’t want her to just go I wanted her to have the best experience of her life! after all I’ve heard this man’s voice and have had a conversation about him with her everyday at least once for 4-5 years! So I bought the VIP meet and greet tickets to surprise her on Christmas with. 1. I wanted her to have the experience of a lifetime 2. I wanted her to NEVER ask (harass) me to go another ABoogie concert again. Lol… we arrived at the concert early like we were told, I was in shock that the traffic was not HORRENDOUS like any other concert I’ve ever been to! We parked at an open lot for $25 that was a block away! Which I thought was a big win!… we walked to the event center and realized that apparently we missed the traffic because the line was from the doors down the side of the building around the corner and all the way down the street for as far as we could see. We walked up the stairs and asked the event staff after he was done diffusing a heated argument at the front of the line where we went with VIP tickets he kindly opened the door and said right inside to that table and check in. We were given our unsigned lanyards and a wrist band. We’re able to walk right up and buy 3 shirts and two waters without a line and walked down to the floor where we were given another wristband. We walked to the center and had maybe a 2-3 rows of people in front of us. They open the doors about an hour later to the rest of the line.
*Here’s where the real experience comes in! I don’t know how many general admission floor tickets were sold (at a much less cost) in total but that floor filled to a VERY UNCOMFORTABLE fiullness! People were pushing from the back forward and people from the front were pushing backwards. Obviously people came to have a good time so they brought in a number of different extra curricular materials to do so as well as alcohol being served. Now I’m not one to judge however when you’re packed like sardines and can not even move your arms when underaged higher than life Amy Lou can’t figure out why the floor under only her is a teeter totter and keeps getting mad at the people she keeps wobbling into for bumping her. or when you’re trying to hold about a 23 year old 225lb, 6ft intoxicated male who can’t stand straight and keeps leaning back on you like you’re a wall to hold him up. We know know what it feels like to be an animal in one of those places that stuff the crates so full with multiple animals that they can’t move and are packed on top of each other! (So I guess that counts as the experience of a lifetime!)
The concert however was great! The artist and DJ’s that had were very good and kept a good. Vibe going. ABoogie performed for a long time which was nice! He did stop the show a couple time due to a couple people who fell out on the floor, maybe from how hot it was from the excessive number of people or one of the other reasons mentioned before. Then restarted the show once medics assisted the person.
After the concert was over around 11:30pm after basically being in what felt like a 4 hour UFC free for all fight for your life, anyone who had VIPmewt and greet got to line up to “meet ABoogie” and take a photo (with your own phone) which they forgot to mention in any of the details or information they sent in the emails! So if your phone was dead because you just used it for 4-5 hours during the concert you were SOL for you one on one photo that was included in your VIP ticket price! Lol AND the meet and greet was a complete JOKE his event coordinators were RUDE AND PUSHY THEY RUSHED YOU THROUGH THE LINE! So what the meet and greet essentially was 30 seconds to get snap a photo and get on out. They made you have your camer open on your phone with no filters, no videos. They took the picture you can’t look to see if you like it. They (event staff) told the girl when she asked if she could look at it first “nope, have a good night honey” which left ABoogie questioning what just happened when my Daughter was pushed in the door for her photo, he apologized to her and they took a photo again his staff rushed me on and tried to rush her out. Also We never received anything autographed!
